I know plenty of people who are atheist, agnostics or deists who lead an ethical life.  I also know people who class themselves as Christian who I would consider untrustworthy and hardly ethical.  I of course know plenty of Christians who are good ethical people. I certainly do not believe that religion particularly the Christian religion is a threat to society.  On the other hand I do not believe that belief in God is necessary for an ethical life.

I base my belief on personal experience rather than theory. I know plenty of people who are atheist, agnostics or deists who lead an ethical life.  I also know people who class themselves as Christian who I would consider untrustworthy and hardly ethical.  I of course know plenty of Christians who are good ethical people.
