  • Great! I'll put a link up to the site, later.

  • Hey guys, why don't you put one up on your own blog ? !!

  • No thanks, I prefer to parent my children properly. What would Jesus do? Jesus would take the time to enforce boundaries in a non-violent manner.

  • We have 🙂

  • It doesn't fit in our sidebar. I'm trying to find a way of reducing the size a little. So far it is not working.

  • Putting the banner on your site doesn't mean you smack your children, it means you recognise that smacking is not the same thing as child abuse and should not be treated identically by the law.

My preference for parenting is much like yours; clear boundaries and expectations with loss of priviledges, extra chores around the house and groundings as consequences. I have my preferred parenting techniques and I don't like or tend to avoid using others that I view as either less effective or not as good for my children, and smacking falls into that latter category for me. However, I don't think that the techniques I choose to use should be the only ones that are legal, that just because I happen to view some other techniques as inferior that these should be criminal.

I do not see evidence that smacking is remotely on par with child abuse. Child abuse injures, harms and psychologically damages children, a light smack does not.

  • Got it to behave. It was rather tricky.

Apart from mere assertion, on what basis do you assert that its always improper to use force in correction.

On what basis do you assert that physical force is violence?

Where is any textual evidence Jesus would hold the position you assert he would, thats actual evidence not trendy liberal slogans.
